Coal Bowl 2016 Winners
Coal Bowl 2016 was the host team's second win in tournament history. The first since 2009. Breton Education Centre defeated D'Arcy McGee High School with a score of 68-45 in the final.

2016 "Shining Star Award"
To mark the 25th Anniversary of Coal Bowl in 2006, the Coal Bowl Board of Directors established a Wall of Recognition to honour those who, over the years, had made an outstanding contribution to the New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic.
Coal Bowl 2016 marks the 35th year of this outstanding, one of a kind, national event. The New Waterford Coal Bowl Classic Board of Directors is very proud to announce that the 2016 recipient of the “Shining Star Award” is The Community of New Waterford.
