The 1974-1975 BEC Girls

Soccer Team

On November 20", 1974, BEC defeated Bridgetown to capture the first of three provincial championships in girls high school soccer. This win capped an undefeated season consisting of 11 wins, 1 tie, with a total of 33 goals for, 3 against, and 7 shutouts. After claiming the Cape Breton Champion-ship, BEC defeated New Glasgow in the provincial semi-finals. From here they advanced to the provincial finals against Bridgetown. In the home and home series BEC played a 0-0 draw in Bridgetown. Then before a huge hometown crowd they won 2-0 to become the first girls team from Cape Breton to win a Provincial Soccer title.
